If we don't solve our economic problems with this country's college debts then we are most likely to fall into them and be in debt for the rest of our lives. As a young woman said in the article “Students Call for a Debt Free College” “Between my boyfriend and I, we'll have $50,000 in debt," she said. "It's like this looming problem over our heads, how are we going to afford this?” (Erickson). This shows how much people could stress out over their college debts and how much they would have to pay on their own. Because of college debt it is very possible that people get stuck with their college debt for the rest of their lives. According to the article “Free Higher Education is a Human Right” “the total student debt outstanding in this country is now $1.225 trillion. What's more, that figure has risen by nearly $400 billion over the last four years, or nearly $100 billion a year” (Eskow). That means that every year the student debt crisis increases dramatically and will increase unless we do something about it. Unless we put an end to the college tuition crisis we will have a growing problem in our hands that will drag every american down.
